Remembering people like Keoni from the last recession compelled us to help distressed owners during the pandemic.

Keoni’s work hours were reduced and met with one of our staff to review his options to save his home - a request to modify the terms of his mortgage was sent to his lender. Keoni arrived at our office the day after Thanksgiving for assistance in faxing documents regarding his loan modification.  While preparing his fax, he said in a soft voice, “I would have mailed these documents but I didn’t have the postage to send it.”  I was heartbroken hearing that Keoni didn’t have enough for a postage stamp to submit such important papers to his lender.  While he was able to obtain a loan modification, thoughts of this encounter still brings tears to my eyes, imagining the incredible hardship he had to endure. 

The funds raised in this campaign will provide unrestricted operating and program funds which will help reach this goal.
